Dan’s Stand-Up Workshop
This is a practical stand-up comedy workshop. You won’t just sit and listen to Dan talk about comedy. You’ll work on your own material, try different techniques, and put them into practice during the workshop.
Whether you’re new to stand-up or already performing, the goal is to help you become more comfortable, more confident, and stronger on stage.
You’ll work on:
- Finding your stage persona — understand what makes you funny and how to bring your own personality to the stage.
- Building stage presence — learn how to use your voice, body, movement, and energy to hold the room’s attention.
- Improving your delivery — work on timing, pauses, tone, and the way you say a joke so it connects better with the audience.
- Writing jokes and bits — learn how to find ideas, turn them into jokes, and build them into longer bits and sets.
- Putting a set together — understand how to choose your material and build a set that works from beginning to end.
- Preparing before you perform — learn how to get yourself ready before going on stage and make the most of your time in front of an audience.
- Working with the audience — learn how to react to what happens in the room without losing control of your set.
- And more — practical tips and techniques you can take with you to your next show.
Come with ideas, jokes, or material you’re already working on. You’ll have the chance to work on them and learn by doing.
